Scotiabank & United Way Community Spirit Awards
United Way campaign totals $28.4 million
Over 500 people gathered for dinner at the Scotiabank & United Way Community Spirit Awards at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver on Thursday, March 14th. The event honoured volunteers, community agencies and donors who supported the annual United Way campaign.

Thanks to the generosity and support of donors, United Way raised $28.4 million in 2012/2013 that will be put to work to help children and seniors across Metro Vancouver.
Loring Phinney, Vice-president, Corporate Marketing, Bell Canada, and Jamie Pitblado, Vice-president, Promotions & Community Investment, The Vancouver Sun & The Province, co-chaired the 2012/2013 campaign.
"Through the generosity and support of our donors, and hard work of thousands of volunteers, United Way is able to tackle key social issues facing our communities, like child poverty, bullying and senior isolation. We are all working together to change people's lives for the better," said Michael McKnight, President and CEO of United Way of the Lower Mainland.
