The Philanthropists' Circle

You give. We match.

The Philanthropists’ Circle was established in 2009 by a group of dedicated community leaders with a goal of raising matching funds to encourage individuals and corporations to show increased commitment to our community, at a time of urgent need. As a result of this incredible support, thousands of everyday heroes made new donations or increased their gift to United Way.

“My wife Katherine and I are honoured to be a part of a movement that helps inspire generosity in our community. We hope that you’ll be inspired to give through this initiative and help create a better future for vulnerable children and seniors.”

Glenn Ives
Chair, Deloitte Canada

To date, members of the Philanthropists’ Circle have contributed a total of $10.5 million, with individual gifts ranging from $25,000 to more than $1 million. These matching funds helped generate more than $21 million for essential programs in our community. Because of this generosity, we can help ensure vulnerable children and seniors are put on the path for success and independence.
